Hi everybody, and welcome! Here are the sketches for this week! Use one sketch or use them all, we don't care! All we ask is that you show your cards here so we can all ooh, and awww over them! Extra credit- Use your cricut on one card! Also, on one of the sketches, which ever you choose, use the sketch as a guideline! Add to it, change the sketch around a bit, what ever you want! Make it to where it looks like the sketch, but different all at the same time, if that makes sense?!?! Have fun!!!!! SandyPalmer attached the following image(s):

Sandy - Thanks for hosting this week and I love the sketches. As you know I love Mojo Monday sketches so I was delighted to see one in there. To my surprise I had chosen to use it for my Hubby's birthday card which was last Sat, so here it is for you to see . My Hubby works for Royal Mail over here so when I found the papers I knew I had to have them for him. The card is a 7x7 as the postcard paper is made up of 4 6x6 blocks, the blue paper has crowns on it. The papers are from Papermainia and they are for the Queens Jubilee. I used my Cricut to cut the red circle mat and the hearts, I used my postage scissors on the strip under the blue ribbon. TFL SueAcrossThePond attached the following image(s):

Sandy – thanks for the wonderful sketches and Dee for the ad colours!
Sue (Acrossthepond) – Wow! An amazing birthday card for your husband and so appropriate for him! The papers are marvellous! I like the details on the border to make a postage edge and the heart and button embellishments. Hope you had a great family celebration for his birthday!

Hi Ladies! Was at Nanadonna's house today while they are on vacation and I had a ball making this card in her Craft Room...she has SO MUCH card-making stuff, I was like a kid in a candy store !!
My Sketch #2 in the AD Colors: Butterfly - Sophie's Cartridge Embossing - CB Diamonds folder Sentiment - Rubber Stamp (which I wrote over with Silver Gel Pen) Added pink and silver pearls to butterfly and sentiment. Not sure of name of embossing folder used on Butterfly, but think it was a Sizzix brand. Used sheer white ribbon for bow. Silver glittery dotted paper... not sure which of her stacks it came from...she has SO MANY!!
This is also my Extra Credit card, which I somewhat changed up from the original #2 Sketch Sandy posted. Hope it counts!! TFL!! Edited by user Wednesday, April 18, 2012 9:30:27 PM(UTC)

Feeling a little better but having a ton of problems going to sleep... I just can't seem to "fall asleep" and I just toss and turn AcrossThePond: what a great card for your hubby... the colors and elements work so well together. I see you're also using one of my favorite fonts... or looks like it (Papyrus?) SandyPalmer: only you would call your first sketch 1 plain ... I think you have plenty of beautiful details for this card to be considered plain plus ALL that hand stitching! Also... when has life ever been simple? LOL! Your second sketch 1 is elegant... beautiful. However, compared to your first sketch 1... I do believe you spent more time making the "plain" card... (which also does NOT qualify it as "plain")... hah hah hah... ok ok, do I get my point across? Your "plain" card appeals to me more because of all the colors and well, just everything about it. This one is going to me right? LOL... I'm kidding! Turtlebug: Awesome job with this week's colors. I like that butterfly and what you did with it... very pretty. Ok, wow on your wish card... love these colors... love them all together SHELBYWOO: WOW on those two cards! I love what you did with the flowers especially on the second one. You did an awesome job with that branch cut and the stacking of those flowers... those are beautiful! Ok, I reread what you said and those are stickers... LOL! But now I'm wondering if we can recreated that using the Pagoda cuts Edited by user Thursday, April 19, 2012 1:22:12 AM(UTC)

From last week's challenge that I missed commenting on:Suevan911: I'm sorry to hear of the time you lost in the forum. Due to constant error messages in the past, I've learned to put all my comments on Notepad first. Once I'm done, I copy it to the forum. If I get an error message, no big deal, I just copy again. I haven't had that problem in a long time but I kno the feeling all too well TwiddleBug: great set of cards and all very pretty. Great background paper on that first card... love shells! Oooh, I like how you did "Sweet Lullaby"... that is just so neat. Ok, is that a stamp on the third card that is heat embossed? That's beautiful... the flowers and the butterfly. Awesome job on the football, the embossing is perfect! carty1949: YAY! You're finally posting on your own! Your work is amazing... keep them coming! DeeScraps wrote:Raquel....the flower you asked about is actually made with an EK Success punch and the one below it is from a punch by Family Treasures. Thanks for the info about the flower punch... I'll have to go find it next time I have a 50% off coupon

Well I am on a bit of a roll here, I need 11 cards for orders before mid May so I thought I'd use sketch #3. Card is A5 in size and the papers were free again out of a magazine (using up my stash) I just fliped the sketch. I don't know if you can see but the stripe paper under the vertical flower mat has dark pink in it so the flourish is from AE was used to make it pop. I used AE for the circle and flower under the sentiment. DH said it still looked plain so I added the feather and flower combo again out of my stash. The card was just to say Thank You for being a friend, it had a nice mushy verse inside too. TFL SueAcrossThePond attached the following image(s):

Turtlebug, I have to say, those ad colors are very striking together! I am in the middle of painting my bathroom, but if I feel like I need to take a break, I may and go ahead and try to make one using those colors! I have finished all my cards so I could have this week to paint, lol! I just love the paper you used, and that embossing went perfect with it all! Great job on it!!! I am really loving how these sketches are turning out! Nice job on sketch 1 too! Michelle, The colors and papers you chose went perfect with the oriental feel to both your cards! I just LOVE those flowers! They honestly don't look like stickers! The tree branch holding those flowers, and then those lanterns dangling from it, I have to say it is my favorite! I just love the look of it! It has a more 3-D look to it! Very nice job on them both! Sue, Dorian was right, the card was really pretty before, but once you added the roses and feather, , etc, the card became beautiful! You couldn't have placed all the added stuff in a more perfect spot either! I just love it! Love the papers you used, and the colors! Wonderful job on it all!!! Ok, here is my sketch 2 card! This is the first extra credit because I used my Rock Princess cartridge for the musical notes! SandyPalmer attached the following image(s):

Sandy – nothing plain about your first Sketch #1. The colours are great! Love the stitching, butterflies and how you outlined the banner and leaves in brown. Everything pops and looks great! Great black and white combination for the second Sketch #1 – amazing die cut! Did you stamp the border on the left? Sketch #2 - this card looks good too! Great ribbon and nice little black brads for embellishment. RAQ – Sorry to hear that you’re still under the weather! Hope you can sleep better soon! Turtlebug – great card using NanaDonna’s stash! That’s a lovely butterfly cut and nice choice of embellishments! Nice and bright Sketch #1 – great embossing and I like the flower and button embellishments! Shelbywoo – Great Sketch #3 – Love the stamping that you did on that card and of course, I like the brown and pink combination. Lovely Sketch #1 too and great sentiment! That is a lovely branch sticker and I can see why you couldn’t resist. Sue – Wonderful card for a friend! Great papers from your stash and I like the pink gems! The feather, flower and bow additions are the perfect touch. Your husband has a great eye! Here's my take on Sketch #2 in the ad colours. Cricut used Accent Essentials for Snowflakes and frame, Joys of the Seasons for mitts, Gingerbread for Hat. Cuttlebug folder cardstock covered with heavy duty foil for the corner pieces. Added some glitter on the snowflakes and Stickles on the hat. Edited by user Thursday, April 19, 2012 6:27:07 AM(UTC)
