I need to cut a one sided zig zag down the center of my sheet - Is there a freestyle on here where I can make my own template, or do I need to find one that someone else already created?

You need a cartridge that has that cut, or you will need to do it in the craft room.

I am in the craft room, but don't know how to find what I need. Can I free style something in the Craft room? If so, how?

You have to use the shapes to make it, no you can't freehand. I don't use it, but i read a lot

Then my next question is - can I create a shape elsewhere and import it to this program? BTW - Thanks for your help and "I don't know" is a perfectly acceptable answer (although NOT one I really want to get). LOL.

 No Cricut is cart based system so you would need a cart if you can't do it in CCR.
