Feel free to join on the fun this week! You know you have been lurking :-)

Just use the sketches for inspiration, create, include the recipe if you want to then

post and comment. Thats it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask, someone will jump in and answer.

We are an inspirational group, uplifting, and friends! We have all levels of skill, and encourage each other.

Sketch #1 sketch #1

sketch #2 sketch#2

Sketch #3 sketch#3

Lets toss it up a bit this week. Lets make 1 cut from a cartridge that the name starts with the 1st letter of your name. (if you want) If you dont have that cartridge, go to the next one...and so on...just for fun!

Bonus** Make a shape card of your choice, and include my favorite...EMBOSSING of your choice.

Sue,
Thanks for the very nice sketches, like all three, but I really love #3...think I will work on it first. Both your sketches are gorgeous, love the beautiful printed papers you used, the feather touches and the inspirational sentiments...great cards!

QUESTION, QUESTION!!!.... Are we to use our name initial cartridge cuts on ONE card or all three sketches??

DeeScraps,
YEA!! Thanks for posting the Ad Colors so early, I'll make sure to use them in one of the sketches, for sure! Gotta go now..need to go hunting in my scrapbox for the colors!LOL

Shelby,
You POOR thing....you HAVE to go to Hobby Lobby!!! Actually, I'm just jealous (Boo, hoo). As big as Tucson is you would think we would have at least five of them here, but not ONE do we have!! The closes one is in Phoenix, can't stand Phoenix, so I avoid it as much as possible, plus it is a two hour drive one way. They seem to have one at every corner. I did write to HL and they said MAYBE in the NEAR future...yeah, right!!
Oh well, enjoy your shopping trip...you LUCKY gal!!LOLLOL

Suevan911: great sketches! Thanks for hosting. Your sample cards are amazing and even the insides are done! Beautiful job with both and I see a feather in one of them. Love the colors too. Also... love the idea of using Cricut cuts with cartridges that start with our names

DeeScraps: thanks for posting the Ad colors early. I have some ideas going around my head for those colors. I probably don't have those three colors together in one paper... we'll see

SHELBYWOO: enjoy your Hobby Lobby trip. The closest one to me is now 80.6 miles away. They're getting closer! Last year, the closest one was 256 miles away

The first thing that popped up in my mind when I read this ---> 88 pieces of layouts!

Suevan - I love the sketches you have chosen, all a little different and the extra credit of using the cart that starts with our name letter is great.
Your cards are lovely aswell as the sentiments used. I do like that paper you used on #2 so pretty. Hope you are feeling better.

Dee - Thanks for the ad colours.

Raq - Just wanted to say what a great calendar you have for the children on your fridge. Just loved all the badges.

I had to get these done so I could stick them in my girls' lunchboxes. They are having a "Leap Year" party in school

Sketch 3

I inverted the sketch so I could make the calendar fit the 29th on the left most side... I know my daughters are going to say "but the 29th is not on a Sunday"... they're always correcting me Blushing

Good morning! Already lots of activity! Thanks Suevan for the great sketches and Dee for the ad colours. The sketches were the topic for our breakfast discussion – yes, I dragged them into my cardmaking. BigGrin I have some ideas now so you’ll see some of my creations in the coming days. There’s no Hobby Lobby or Joann’s here just Michaels but I have a few local hobby stores that carry some amazing items at great prices too.

Suevan – Lovely sketch #2 – Wonderful choice of cardstock (inside and out) and just the right amount of bling. Love the feather too. Did you make the flower? Beautiful sketch #3 – again great cardstock. The stamped sentiment looks okay in the picture. Like how you offset the frames on the front and added a small pearl like the ones in the border. Lovely sentiments in both cards!

Shelby - have fun at the concert and shopping! I’m interested in hearing what you decide for your wall with 88 - 12 x 12 sheets.

RAQ – great calendar posted yesterday! It looks like you have a very busy life with your kids. Lovely Leap Year cards for Sketch #3 – that was quick! Beautiful string of beads!

Have fun everyone!

RAQ, I saw your calendar on the last challenge myself and thought it was perfect! So cute! I can't wait to see what you come up with using the crackle accents! BigGrin Your kids sure do have a wonderful Mom! They are going to love their cards from you! I love how you included a Feb calendar page on their cards! You really do have all sorts of different kinds of embellies don't you! Love the colors you chose too! Love it all!

Have you ever not been inspired by something but you try and make a card for it anyway??? I was not to thrilled about making a card for someone that likes nesting dolls! Nesting dolls are not easy for me! Crying Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions on this card it would be greatly appreciated!
Sketch 2, and ad colors!

Also, SandyPalmer and I joined the Cricut Fairy Army and we just got our first set of missions so I hope you all don't mind when we share our cards here for it

SandyPalmer: your nesting doll is so elegantly done. The soft muted tones in contrast with the black is so nice. Beautiful card... I wouldn't change a thing. Your sympathy card is beautiful as well. Love the giant letterings in the background on all those pearls

sunnieday: enjoy your massage! I want one! LoL

Suevan911: feel better! Thanks for sharing the pics of the puppy... Soooo cute!

Off of work so I have two birthday cards finished for March by using two of the new sketches!
I also used cartridges that start with "C" for my first name and used the color challenge for sketch #2!
#2 I used the shadow and doily from the Cindy Loo cartridge. I lightly colored the doily picture with pastel chalks and gave it a spraying with glimmer mist. I will post a close-up of the doily so you can see the sparkle.
#3 I used the Mary Jane cut from Country Life. The flower is made from several layers of a flower cut from Serenade.
Thank you ladies for the inspiration this week. I am planning #1, but I have a project to complete for Sunday School class so the card making may be put on hold for a few days.

Got a card done today! I tried doing the "in the box" technique that AcrossThePond introduced to us in last week's challenge. Let me just say... I won't be trying this again anytime soon. LOL! Oh my... it is time consuming trying to align everything correctly! I've done this technique with Spellbinders but at a much smaller scale... usually for sentiments. Let's not even get into how many pop-dots I used for this to lift the frame!

This is also going to be my second entry to Jingle Belles challenge. The theme is "Stuck on You" and you're supposed to use stickers and such... but I don't have any. So, I made my own! The white Christmas tree is cut from ProvoCraft vinyl and I adhered it to vellum

I sort of used sketch 3 again for inspiration

Card size - 5.5" x 7.5"
Papers - JoAnn's
Spellbinder - cut out frame and the scalloped circle
Fiskar - circle punch out
Sentiment is a stamp
Cricut cartridge:
Christmas - Christmas tree

Do you all think I went a little overboard with the pearls on the Christmas tree? It might be a bit excessive... but I just kept sticking them on there. LOL!
