Josie - thanks for hosting this week - hope to be able to do at least one of these sketches, they look very inviting....love the sample cards, especially the second one, so bright and full of detail..

...in the meantime, I'm still posting Liz's cards until she can do them herself...so this is her take on Raquel's sketch 2 from last week, using Dee's ad colours but she's taken the centre oval and made that into her base card...I'll leave her to add the details...

Thanks to Izzy for posting my card. I stil can't get the pics to stick but I have lost the security cocind at the bottom of the post.

Details:
Base is plain white, on top of that is a white mirror card that's been embossed and stamped in the upper section with butterflies, the background blossom, the fence and the white branch on top is from Pagoda. The oval frame is pearl card cut from Ashlyn's Alpha and the little hearts are waste from the 'love' cut from Simply Sweet. The tiny flowers are punched and lightly coloured with pale pink and green alco pens-yes, there is green there but it is hard to see as it's so subtle. The butterfly is a die cut of vellum on the bottom and acetate above. Just to give an idea of the colours the ribboning is Bridal White.

Thanks for looking,
Liz.

Oh, and the word on the left upper is 'stay' with the 'I send you love' etc. to be on the insert.

to play along. Love your samples, the browns on #1 are great! Pretty combo on #2. AND coolLove Miss Emma's birthday card.
Funny because when I was reading your extra credit that is the first thing I thought about. Can't believe she

Good morning....here are the colors for this week.

The sketches are very nice.....and I need some children's birthday cards and also Valentine cards. I'm looking forward to what everyone does. The cards from last week were wonderful and I especially liked what everyone did with the White on White.

I hope everyone is having a good week, enjoying some good weather and you/or your family are feeling better.

Turtlebug thanks for the great sketches and Dee for the colours.
Turtlebug - Nice colour combination for Sketch #1. Love the gears that are embossed. Which company makes that folder?
Lovely Valentine's card - great hearts and wonderful paper. What a perfect card for a birthday girl! Lovely cupcake and I like how you used the same paper for the cupcake wrapper and background.

Izzy - gorgeous card from last weeks challenge. Beautiful embossing and butterfly. Lovely frame too. I have the Ashlyn cart and need to look at it again.

I need to do some thinking now.

Hope to post a card tomorrow!

Ugh... it's been such a busy day and I was hoping to get at least one card done by now. My mom stopped by asking me to cut 100 shaped invitations and it was due this afternoon!

I did have fun painting bird houses with my 3-year old (we bought some at clearance from Jo-Ann's)... then I had the kids wash the car BigGrin

DeeScraps: thanks for posting the Ad colors. Hmm... bright colors... heee heee... LOVE these!

Ok, here comes the tiny yellow bus where, normally, the slow riders disembark. However, you'll usually find only me on the bus coming down Cricut Avenue.

I would like to try and participate in some challenges, as my FB group thinks this might be good theropy for me. One did mention about Tuesday's Challenges...but I can't find that one.

How do your rules work here? Head's up: I've never done anything like this befoe Blushing

BingoLady: great tag, yummy... and what a pretty Valentine's card... wow, are those really tiny heart embossing?

*NanaDonna*: wow on your explosion box... so many elements and details! Love it!

Our only rule is for you to really just have fun. Pick any sketch (or all of them) and make a creation with your own version of the sketch (you don't have to follow them exactly). The only thing we really ask for is for you to post your creation here on this thread to share with everyone so we can all enjoy it. I hope that helps and I certainly hope you join us

Liz - Your white-on-white card from last week is so very pretty, love the embossing and lovely frame. The white butterfly is so delicate soft looking. Great card!

Raquel - The red hearts are from the "Cindy Loo" cartridge, page #32, in red cardstock. I then used off-white glitter cardstock using the layer key and glued them to the red hearts. Those birdhouses are really fun for the kids. I bought the Birdhouse for my DGD and the airplane for my DGS. They had fun painting them...I had to help with the "a**embly" of them.Laugh

NanaDonna - I knew I needed to make a card for Emma's first birthday party, so I got the idea to also use it for the Extra Credit challenge. I really enjoyed watching her last week...it was so funny...I saw the amount of baby cereal her Mom fixed and brought for me to feed her and I asked DH..."am I suppose to make her eat ALL this!"...well let me tell you, much to my surprise...it was gone in NO time! OH, and did I mention ...she has discovered where you keep the candy bowl!!!LOL Awesome box card you made for Emma, what a keepsake!

CarrolMills - Very simple...no rules!! Interpet one or all of the sketches to your own design and share with us. The Ladies that post here are like one big Family...we care and share. We take turns "Hosting" the sketches and new ones are posted every Wednesday. I hope you decide to join us, best therapy ever!

DeeScraps - Thanks for the bold and bright color combo, will get on it right away.

Gisele - The folder is from ProvoCraft for the CuttleBug and is called "Clockworks". I bought it at JoAnne's.

Larkspur - What a cute B'day card!! The doggie is too cute with his party hat and heart eye. Love pink and purple together. Card #2 is very nice. Like the floral strip and the creative way you included everyone's name to the sentiment.

BingoLady - Cute tag, like the font you used. Card #2, like the use of the border cuts and the tiny pink hearts.

I passed your name, but I wanted to thank you for giving me some starting details. Ireally would like to step out of my comfort zone and try something I've been wanting to do for years. Well, actually, as my comfort zone (of 19yrs) has decided to take my comfort away via courts & a divorce (where he'll be much happier)from me SOOOOO .. I need to learn how to readjust to being to society and to constantly being all alone from now on.

I'm hoping trying to participate in a challenge may feel some empty spots. However, I still left in semi-darkness. From what I had seen in the past from different blogs, I understood you were stay as close to the template as possible ??

When do the challenges post? What is the time frame to get them done? *damn, I've GOT to learn how to get picutres out there*

Well you provide me some direction if you notice that I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay offf track and still don't know what I'm doing ? :)

I'm almost getting excited about doing something I would have NEVER considered during my pre-divorce years lolol

Again, thanks for your guidance!!!

Thanks to All you ladies for your encouraging comments. Cstanzione, Sandy and Sue, your brevity of words speaks volumes to me. I am greatly honoured. Y'all might not see me for a while as I have the horrendous task of having to widen all the doors and frames in my house!

Turtlebug Thanks for the samples-I like the wow factor of the second one. btw, are you, Bingo and Nana related? I can see you all live in Tuscon and you've all mentioned Emma...

Larkspur Cute doggy card...Cart used please? (Im still new to Cricut). I too like all the names on the second card, are they the grandkids?

NanaDonna That box is very appealing, what kind of present did you put in it?

Bingolady That Valentine is very nice, I like the artistic thought of the split lace underneath the 'Valentine'.

Gisele It's thanks to my sister Izzy for posting my w/w butterfly card.

Liz.

The sketches are there for inspiration, you don't have to follow them exactly. A lot of times we start following the sketches and end up with creations looking nothing like them! LOL! BigGrin Seriously, don't worry too much about sticking as close to the sketch as possible, just have fun!

The official "start" to our weekly sketch challenge is Wednesday but it's become a tradition to post late Tuesday night to accommodate our European / Asian friends (since they hit Wednesday morning first). The challenge lasts a week but NO pressure to finish within that time frame. If you're late with any sketch, you can always post it in the next week's challenge (or later). HAH HAH! I wasn't able to play for 6 weeks before the holidays and I posted 15 cards I made up when I caught up... so really... no time frame pressure. Relax and enjoy and join us!

SandyPalmer: oooh very cute card and you found a perfect image for a "hatter" and did such a great job with your Copics. Awesome job bringing back the quilling... hah hah... is that a message for me to take mine out?

Morning Ladies would just like to post a couple of my cards before I head up to the hospital to see hubby and head to work afterwards.

Hubby update had a transfusion yesterday blood pressure was to low doing better now was having a reaction to the pain meds so he asked them to stop them and just give him what he takes at home and his breathing is much better and so is the pain now. he wouldn't sleep cause he said everytime he tried to sleep he knew he wasn't going to wake back up he could feel he wasn't breathing right. he had that same reaction with the last time he had surgery so he knew what it might be good thing for that. he is highly sensitive to a lot of pain meds evedently. well on to crafting
