Sketch 3

I made this one first since all the elements were already on Design Studio ready to be cut
(it is also the ONLY reason, I pretty much followed the sketch as is)
BigGrin

I don't know what the inside will say just yet, but I just wanted to use "seriously?" and I don't know why either Blushing

Fabulous Finds - rectangles and squares
Forever Young - "seriously?"
Stretch Your Imagination - background frame
Sweet Treats - Ice Cream

I think I will give this a try. I should have some paper and other things a year old. I have only been paper crafting since October 2010. I first started when my daughter was 8 months but was way too busy. Then I started again when she was 3 but didn't find or make the time to really get into it then. Then in 2010 my church hosted crop nights and I have been paper crafting ever since!!!

Thanks for hosting this,

Sharondalyn

Welcome! I got my Cricut Christmas of 2008 but I didn't really use it since my little one was only 4 months old then... however, like you, it only took one card-making workshop for me to get hooked! I do hope you join us, I can't wait to see your creations

Hi ladies. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I don't have much te anymore. I started back to school and I think it is going to be harder than I thought. Just before school started work moved me and now they want to split my time between two programs. Time to make room in the craft room for a different kind of paperwork :)

Here is the color challenge this week. It's a little different.....it's white on white. Have fun with this.

DeeScraps: thanks for posting the Ad colors... you must have been reading my mind! I just made a wedding card for my cousin that is all white with a touch of one of her wedding colors

Suevan911:
very pretty tag card and I love the use of the embossed sentiment here

I downloaded Craft Room last night and checked it out. It is actually very convenient to use when searching through my cartridges for images... but I tried cutting with it and the image on the screen mat doesn't coordinate on where it cuts on my actual mat... some alignment issues there

I don't believe I've really used my Cricut without Design Studio since I got them both as presents at the same time. I prefer to use DS even if just cutting one thing because I like the fact that I can set the paper anywhere on my mat and I can tell my Cricut where to cut it. I also do a lot of placement cuts / draws so I need to know where I'm doing that

Ok, I seem to be working on the sketches backwards... got sketch 3 posted and now this one and will be working on sketch 1 later

Sketch 1 using the Ad colors

Home Accents - Flourish

Extra Credit: buttons on each corner

This is a wedding card I made for my cousin using just a bit of one of her wedding colors. I made a mistake with the corner punches so I had to cover them... found the buttons that were from my girls' bobby pins they wore when they were flower girls over a year ago

RAQ: What a yummy card!

Sue: Love the papers you chose but I especially liked the sentiment of the tag. Sorry you've got so much snow - we've had nothing all winter (for which I'm grateful of course, but the kids are bummed out).

Bingo: Oh, your wedding card is so, so pretty. I really liked the embossing and the font you chose.

I don't typically make my own tags or do a lot with white, so this week will really be a challenge for me. I'm hoping to get started on my projects tomorrow unless my chauffeur services are required by the kids (lol--they're making all sorts of plans for their afternoon off from school!).

Looking forward to seeing everyone's goodies!

Raq Thanks for the sketches. Do like the 'seriously' sentiment-quirky and thinking outside the box...the seriously says exactly that and that then contrasts with your sweetie theme that says soooooooooo NOT! Original thinking!
Must look into that SYI cart-looks very useful.

Suevan Like that choice of colouring, can I assume it's a double sided pp as I can see the gridding on both front and back? Very clever offsetting the sentiment panel and then rebalancing on the heart panel with the flower. Have you done some pen faux stitching on the reverse? Can I ask if the reverse wording is a stamp? Excuse my ignorance but I am very new to this kind of crafting.

Bingolady Nice interpretation of sketch#3. May I ask what emboss. folder you used and what cart for the 'I do' it looks like a very usable font.

Suevan, very pretty tag card! I really love those flowers with the flower button on them!

BingoLady, oh wow that white on white card is really pretty! I especially love that border frame in white! What cart is that from?

RAQ, beautiful sketch 2 card! Love everything about that card!

Ok, here is sketch 3! Not sure which I like better? Guy cards are such a challenge anyway aren't they!?!?!

Raq Really like the pink and aqua together on the wedding card...soft, smooth and luscious with the added luxury of the feather! Can I ask if the extra blue shading is something you've added or an illusion created by the camera...I do see the normal shadow but the blue cast is different.

SandyP Your card set in my minds' eye a field of barley with it's attendant windmill in the background...thank you for the image and so suitable with your colourings for the chaps/blokes-that's Brit speak for men. Must ask though how you processed the sheaf of wheat/barley-is it a cut from an embossed image and then distressed? Please remember I am new to this stuff so need to know more than other experienced ladies on this site - even more so than the other 'newbies' that seem to know what they are doing! Where the script pp come from? I know, stupid q. when I probably can't get it here.

Liz, I'm sorry, I will start writing what I use from now on! I do it when I post on my blog! It probably is a good idea for us all to get in the habit of doing it! The wheat, and the windmill came from Country Life cart! After I put the wheat together I did use distressed ink to go over it to give it more of a rich feel to it! Yes you can get the script over there! AcrossThePond just sent it to me, lol! It is a peel off sticker that I used both copic marker on it, and a regular marker on it so it has light and dark coloring in it! I don't know if anyone can see it in the picture, but I used my score buddy and scored along the sides to give it a texture too! Anyway, I am soooo glad you decided to come on here and play with all of us! Honestly, I don't know what a lot of stuff is still and have to ask myself! Your cards definitely don't look like you are new to card making!
I am sure you have been doing it for quite some time! Love seeing your work!

RAQ – Thanks for hosting and designing the sketeches and Dee for the colours. It will be a challenge to work in white. I love working with the gypsy and haven’t looked at the Craftroom yet.

RAQ – You’ve been a very busy gal! Great ice cream card! Love the use of glitter on the scoops of ice cream. Gorgeous Sketch 1 with Ad colours. Never would have guessed that the flowers were from your dd’s barrettes. Love your embossing, flourish, flowers!

Soshescraps – glad you’re joining in. This is just my third week on the challenge and just over a year making cards. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Suevan – Great tag! Great choice of paper, embellishment and sentiment on the back! I feel your pain regarding the snow with over 8 inches in the past few days.

Bingolady – Beautiful wedding card in the ad colours! Beautiful embossing!

Sandy – A great guy card! I like your second version with the black embellishments.

I will post 2 tags in a moment!
