Happy New Year everybody! I just received my first G earlier today (technically, it was yesterday, but I haven't gone to sleep yet) and am still new and learning it. I went through the process of charging it and syncing/updating it on my computer but HAD NOT linked any cartridges to it yet.
In the past few weeks, as I have been planning to get a G, I had been reading many complaints about not being able to link to both the CCR and G, so although I already had 3-4 cartridges linked to CCR, I decided to stop until I had heard there was a fix. But, later this evening, when scrolling through the cartridges on my new G, I noticed that the few cartridges I had previously linked to the CCR were showing in BLACK! I know for a fact that I hadn't linked any cartridges to my G yet (that cable is still packed in the box), and that these cartridges were linked onto CCR. So when I saw these cartridges in Black on my G, I decided to test it to see if it would cut. I disconnected my Cricut from the computer, connected my Gypsy to my Cricut and, using the cartridge previously linked to CCR, it cut perfectly!
So, my question is: Does this mean cartridges linked onto CCR can now be cut with G, AND vice-versa? Or did I just get lucky? Could it just have been the initial syncing/update or if I link any other cartridges to either the G or the CCR, will they sync together in future syncs/updates?

Congrats Cindy J, you will love your Gypsy girl. I so love mine and am visiting the mb because I am doing an update and it is taking hours so someone may be giving us a new year present and linking all our carts through. In which case with 200 carts loaded into my G girl it will be taking time. Love the mb for info it is great. Hope you love your gypsy girl as much as I love mine. Youtube is a great source of info and all you do is put in cricut gypsy for a huge amout of learning. HNY

When you link cartridges or digitals to CCR, when you sinc (update) your G they will be transferred to the G and you can then use them with your G. As far as I know at this time, cartridges that have been linked to the G cannot be linked to CCR. I believe PC is working on that. Edited by user Sunday, January 01, 2012 9:00:13 AM(UTC)

If you link your carts to the gypsy as of right now you won't be able to link them to your cricut.com account to use with CCR. I haven't heard anyone say that linking them to CCR will link them to your gypsy other than the digital carts.

Doxie....IT WORKED!!! Just to be clear--I had not linked any of my carts to either the G or my E2 before today. After reading this thread post, I decided to try it. I linked my Happy Graduation cart to CCR through my E2. Then I updated my Gypsy (which unfortunately took FOREVER because I also installed the Imagine App on it, lol.) Now my G has the Happy Graduation cart linked!!!! I am ecstatic!!! I think it can be said that ANY cartridge linked through CCR can now be accessed on your G....not just the digital ones! I hope they can get those linked soon who only have them on their G as well!

I hope they can get those linked soon who only have them on their G as well! Kigz - Glad to hear that you're so excited about my little discovery that I stumbled upon last night! I was excited too, which is why I had to stay awake a little while longer to try it out and see if it worked. And also the reason why I was posting this post at the crazy hour of 2 AM since I thought there would be a few of you excited and interested in this as well!!! Anyway, the cartridge that I was referring to in my earlier post was the My World cartridge, not a digital cartridge (I don't know how to link the digital carts to my G yet). This and a couple other carts were linked through my Cricut.com account onto CCR and when I synced/updated my new Gypsy, I noticed it was linked onto that as well. I was able to cut a design using the My World cartridge from my Gypsy. So, as Kigz said, it would be logical that ANY cartridge linked through CCR can now be linked onto the Gypsy. I haven't linked any carts onto my Gypsy (yet) since I'm waiting to see if they can be cut through CCR. So those with carts on the G wanting to link to CCR, it seems that isn't working yet. Yes, hopefully, PC will soon have a fix to link the carts already on the G into CCR. Meanwhile, I hope we all have a great New Year! And keep the tips coming since I'm still learning about this new part of the Cricut world! Edited by user Wednesday, February 01, 2012 1:19:15 AM(UTC)
