I just got my cricut mini and I love it. I love that everything is at the touch of your fingertips. However I was very disappointed with the stickiness of the mat. I've only made 6 cut-outs and I had to tape the edges the last time. If I was Provo Craft, I would make and offer a resticking type of prouduct for the mat.

This mat is terrible!! Cricut better improve this asap because these machines and all the extras are not cheap, I expect better quality! I used my mat 3 times and it's lost all stickiness. I'm very disappointed that I already need to buy a new one.

Mat not sticky
I have had the mini for a few weeks, but the mat was a big disappointment. I have the v1 personal cutter, so I have used (and fought with) cricut mats for years. This mat does not work, which makes the machine impossible to use.

Mini Cutting Mat
I am like the rest who have posted on this blog. At first the mat was sticky, very difficult to remove item and now it will not hold the paper to cut.

I am fed up with fighting!
I ordered the cricut mini from HSN. I have wanted one for ages, but could not justify the cost. I finally ''splurged'' and now, I absolutely hate this mat! At first, I had to tear my cardstock to get it off the board, but now, it keeps coming off mid cut. I have used this mat about 6 times. In addition, I have to set it on 6 to cut because I got a thicker cardstock. It is tearing the mat up!!! I am pondering sending the whole thing back!

I too bought my mini from HSN because I've always wanted a Cricut. I thought I was doing something wrong until I read these reviews. First 2 cuts were great but then the mat stopped sticking. I had bought 2 extra mats and tried another and it has stopped sticking after only 2 full page cuts with regular weight card stock. Love the mini but not loving the mats.

I got my cricut mini on Tues and was just able to set it up and cut with it for the first time. I had no trouble setting it up and even getting all the downloads for the font and 3d ornaments or even getting my reward points. However, the instructions for the 3d ornaments are not good, there should be a digit book for it. Also, the mat, after 3 cuts the paper would not stick. I now have to wait until I get new ones to use it again. I really enjoy using my cricut expression but the mats were much stickier. I agree with on review I read that said you should make a product to make the mats sticky again or put 4 to a pkg for the price.

I've had the original Cricut personal cutter for years and most mats last me for at least a month. Now I, too, splurged, for the Mini - the jury's still out for it. The mat is definitely an inferior product. Provo Craft needs to rethink and redo!

I really like the new mini, but the cutting mat stinks. I too have had to use tape to hold cardstock in place after only a few full page cuts. I have put 2-way glue on the mat as I do with the 12 x 12 mats. It's now useable again. I wish P.C. could fix this continuing problem with their cutting mats.

I am surprised at these posts. i have not had a problem with my mat yet. I have cut at least 15 items on cardstock so far. I bought my mini through HSN back in November.

The mats are no good and need to be replaced

I disagree... I got my Cricut mini for Christmas and I was so excited! I heard the mats are supposed to last up to 20 times of use. I've already used mine over 30 times. I also don't think it matters if you need new boards. They are only $10 for 2.

I had a problem at first with the mat being too sticky as I was new and didn't know how to remove with the spatula. Once you learn to slide and lift gently, then clean with a wet one and dry at the end of your day (very important to keep it clean!) I have used one mat for over a month and multiple cuts (80+) and still going! When it slips, I clean it again and off I go, just be patient and keep it clean ladies and gents!

I have had my cricut for years, and was always very happy. Just purchased the new MINI cutting mats and very dissappointed on how they are not sticky at all. I've heard I need to glue them to use them. When I purchase something new, I should not have to do something more to them in order to use them. NOT HAPPY when I'm scrapbooking and cannot use my brand new mats! May never purchase another Provo Craft item!

The mat that came with my Cricut Mini is beyond awful. One cut and that was it. I couldn't do another thing with it. The only place I can get these mats is on this website, but the shipping is over $8 for a $10 item. I am so very sorry I ever got the Cricut Mini. I should have stuck with the original Cricut. Shame on Provo Craft for creating an inferior product and then charging a ridiculous amount to ship such a small item. Do you think we are all stupid?

Not so sticky
What happened to the mats? They used to be too sticky and I could never get the paper off now they dont stick after one use!! I prefer the old to the new. I get so annoyed having to spend $12 once a week on mats. Please fix the adhesive!!

Poor quality mat
I was very disappointed with the mat for the Cricut mini. It is not very sticky causing my paper to move. I ruined several sheets of paper before I stopped my project. The mat needs more glue to hold the paper securely.

All the "new" mats have the same problem - bad adhesive. On both the Mini and the Expression/Imagine mats, the adhesive will work for maybe 1 cut. I've tried cutting with smaller pieces of paper as a second cut - that smaller piece won't adhere and moves all over the mat during the cut. There has to be a solution for a consumable!

I am new to the Cricut Mini and have also had trouble with the mat. I know have to tape the card stock on to the mat for it to work. Provo please make better mats.

Not so sticky
I was excited to get my cricut mini. Its my first time owning a cricut machine. Love the machine but the mat is horrible. The manual states that it should last 20-30 cuts. I probably used it 7x and then the mat stopped sticking. I ruined 3 nice cardstocks because it wouldnt stay put on the mat no matter how hard i pressed and flatten it. I mighth have to tape it down. I know cricut is trying to make money off its cartridges, the mats and the blades, but come on! I'm gonna go broke trying to use the machines because i have to keep buy new mats and blade. I use it mostly on cardstock and regular paper-nothing too thick! Give me a break here!

My mats have been too sticky at first so I started putting an old one face to face with a new one to transfer some of the too sticky surface to the old one. Then I have 2 usable ones!

As a newcomer to Cricut, I can't express how very pleased I am with this product. I have been doing project after project using my Cricut mat over and over. The scraper is perfect for lifting corners and removing projects from the mat. The mat itself is very forgiving of my beginners mistakes. I am buying a new mat so that I won't cut it up so much this time, and it will look fresher.

I got the cricut mini for Christmas. I love the machine, the mat however is another story. This is the 2nd time I've used it and halfway through cutting the image I had to stop because the paper did not stick any longer. I then recut the image, and it then stuck to the mat, but the paper itself would not. I am so disappointed because I love the machine, but the mat needs some serious help.
