pretty good

I just got my E2 about a month ago and have used it a handful of times. I haven't had any of the other machines, so for a first-time Cricut, this is pretty cool. I'm tech savvy, so the way things are laid out doesn't bother me. It does stink that you have to go through a couple of the menus just to get the machine to cut. Overall, I enjoy having the machine. Now that school is out for a while, I'll be able to play! For those people who would like to try it, or are interested in purchasing a E2, maybe talk to someone who has one, that might be better than reading reviews, although they are helpful because it is a lot of money. I haven't had any real problems with my machine, hopefully I got lucky. Good luck in your endeavor!

Disappointed

As the title suggests, I am quite disappointed with my CE2. I have the Personal Cutter, and I absolutely LOVE it! I really only got the CE2 because I wanted to do bigger cuts. However, using this was difficult. I have to cut my projects multiple times to get through the paper, and this is NOT heavy duty paper, it is regular lightweight cardstock! Then when I cut after about 5 times, which is what I need to get through, the edges arent clean cut they are rough and ragged and look just plain awful! Replaced the blade, its not that, turns out the same. Really quite upset :( Crafting is my livelihood, and I spent money to upgrade, (I paid way too much-$349)so I can turn a bigger profit, and this has really put a hamper on things. I like all the features, I LOVE the Cricut Craft Room, Love that I can save all my cartridges in it so I do not have to keep searching for which I want to use, if I can just through the PAPER!!!

Sadly not the one...

I was SO excited to get this machine after borrowing my friends' Cricut Expression. But, for me, it was just too cumbersome to use, especially if I wanted to do something with layers. Just a bummer; took it back to store and will be getting the first one instead.

love hate relationship

having issues with either the blade cutting too deep or not deep enough. the blade drags across my project and cutting what i dont want cut. For a begginer this has not been ease of use. The digital screen is hard to read and always have to refer to my book or to the template for the origanal template. Also the blade tears my paper on any points in a project. I love having this machine having but tempted to return it for the origanal expression.

Like it so far

I have owned my Expression 2 after owning an Expression and Baby Bug. I am very happy with the performance of the machine so far, and have used it to make some bulletin boards for my classroom. I still am not sure about some of the features, but appreciate You tube for tutorials. I wish that it came with more instructions on the icons, and wish that it didn't require so many steps to make a cut, but otherwise, it has performed really well when I have wanted it to. I also like the LED screen that is similar to the imagine. I gather that with more experience I will like this machine more and more.

Disappointed

This is our 3rd, yes 3rd machine. All 3 machines have had problems connecting to the computer and none of the machines cut thru paper. Big disappointment. Don't Buy This! Their website is poorly designed and has little help available.

nice concept but...

I was thrilled when my husband bought me the cricut, like I couldn't stop smiling. However after trying to use it for a few months, I am packing it up to return it. First, one of the reasons we bought it was the Craft Room. My computer wouldn't connect, had the technician call, ghost the computer, everything and they couldn't get it either. They told me they would work on it, but a month later and I still haven't heard anything. I had practiced on the old Cricut and much prefer it to the digital touch screen pad, it was hard to guess the sizes, I never figured out how to adjust the blade to fit the paper like I could on the old machine. Sadly the sticky on the pads wears off too quickly as well. I love love love the concept of the Cricut and have wanted one for years! It just didn't live up to my expectations. Maybe if they got all the kinks worked out, I would reinvest. Bottom line, it's just too much money to spend on something that frustrates me more than it fulfills me.

Dissapointed

I find this machine very frustrating. It makes too much noise. The manual is pathetic, it must have been written by a computer tech, not a crafty woman. I have to use the manual to figure out what button to push. I have to push too many buttons to size and cut. I bought this machine to use with my gypsy, my gypsy died just after I bought it. Provo Craft does not repair gypsy. I had already opened the box and can't return it. If this machine could do everything my gypsy could, when it worked, without having to hook it up to a computer I would be a very happy cricut customer. Also the screen is too small. The only redeeming quality about this machine is, it cuts beautifully. Cuts that would have come out shredded with the expressions are cut perfectly with the E2, so that is the only thing I like about it.

stops cutting during projects

I don't get why it stops cutting during each & every project.I have no firewall. I have to restart all the time and then it stops again.

Slow & Frustrating

I was excited to get the new Expressions 2. I do not like it. It is cool that it is all computerized but the layout makes it way too complicated to cut anything. You have to go through so many screens just to get it to do what took me a few minutes with my cricut expression. I also do not like have to look at the book just to see what the icon is and where to find it in the programs. Plus, it is a lot slower than my expression. It is now in the hands of someone else. If you are new to cricut, it might be an ok choice but if you are a current cricut user I would suggest doing a bit of research before you buy. Or save your money and get an expression and use the money saved to get you some fun cartridges.

Worst Product Ever

This machine is suppose make your work easier but it makes your life even harder. The machine is constantly performing poorly and overall you be spending a lot more over the time.

Disappointed

I am disappointed I bought this machine and it is not compatible with either one of my computers to use CCR and that is the whole purpose of me purchasing it, when my Expression stop working correctly. Now I own digital images that I can not use. It was a lot of money to spend on something that I can not use the way I wanted too.

I hate it!

This the 3rd one I have received. I have upgraded my computer as well as spent countless hours on the phone with PC trying to get it to work with CCR. But I still can not get it to work with CCR. I do not recommend it!!!!! I wish I had bought a second Expression instead.

Buyer Be Awhere

Only cuts from very expensive cartridges. Will cut purchased images from ProvoCraft database but the software to do so is very buggy and issues are very,very...very slow to be resolved. Machine cuts fine stand alone but could be so much more without the constraints placed on the cutter and software by ProvoCraft.

Love Love Love

I went straight from the original Cricut to the Expression 2, and can't be more happy! I have been using the Expression 2 with the Craft Room and have been able to do so much with it. I did find that using it as a stand alone product, it is a little confusing and cumbersome, but once I started using it with the Craft Room I have been able to do everything I've wanted in half the time.

YAY!

I don't see why people don't like it very much! I just got one after pitching in a bit for Christmas, and it's awesome! I upgraded from my Cricut Original to this and It's absolutely amazing. I don't see why people hate it so much. I've only really had one problem - it stopped halfway but that was because I accidentally pressed PAUSE. If you don't have one, go and get one! It's way worth the money!

So Dissapointed...

To be honest, this is my 1st Cricut and I haven't used it much. It is fine for what it does - which really isn't much more than the lesser expensive models. Wireless is a joke...what's the point in spending all that money just for "updates" if you have to connect the machine to "the mother board USB port" (accessible ports on the front of a computer won't work)in order to actually cut with it. I've been waiting for a long time for this. I thought when it was announced the hype was that you could store cartridges...I was wrong. You are either tehtered to a computer dependent on internet access, or are still carrying your cartridges or Gypsy (more $$) around. Unless you are a Cricut Master and can figure out how to get your money's worth or don't mind being wired to a computer (assuming you have enough ports), buy the lesser expensive models.

Needs a lot of improvement

I have always wanted a Cricut. This Christmas my husband got my in-laws to buy me one. They ordered the Cricut Expression 2. I was excited b/c I have seen how amazing the mini is and the original Expression is. I was excited to have the lastest and greatest. Well not so great. Right out of the box, it did not work. It would not cut through any paper, no matter what I did with the settings. It was very difficult to use. The screen is too small and you have to scroll through so many screens to get what you need. I called a friend over who is well versed with Cricut. She used her machine (the first Expression), played around with mine. She decided it was the blade. She took a new blade put it in mine and it worked.. better but not great. So I called Cricut. The customer service is great. They shipped out a new blade and also got my up and running with the craft room and Cricut Sync. The machine needed an update (yes brand new it needed an update. but what is new with technology). I run windows 8 and she had to help me get it craft room compatible with Windows 8. Ok great you think, it will work. Well about a week later I sit down to do some projects. My first real big cut. I was cutting out a page of "Happy" using the craft room. On the first page the machine powered off in the middle of the cut.. did not finish the page. It proceeded to do this on the next 3 pages. Taking me hours to do something that should have taken 10 minutes. I disconnected craft room from the machine and just cut 4 items on one page. Well would you know it powered off again. So boxed it up and took it back to the store that night.!!! I ordered an original Cricut Expression.. the night it came in I cut 3 whole pages with it powering off. Easy to sit up and get going. The first one took forever. The key pad is so much easier to use. You can actually see what you are typing or selecting. Oh yes I forgot to mention, the touch screen on the 2, did not ever calibrate correctly. When I selected an item it would select the next item over. To fix the problem we had to calibrate incorrectly (hit the cross-hairs in the wrong spot to treat it)..so when you hit the square/item it actually selected the one you wanted. The first expression you don't have to worry about that. The first Expression I have now cuts faster and cleaner. It actually lives up to the expectations I have for Cricut and the cost of the machine. DO NOT BUY AN EXPRESSION 2.. they have a long way to go with that machine.

Worthless!!!!

I got this as a Christmas present, because I am a second grade teacher and I was always using my aunts. Needless to say this is piece of garbage and I would send it back if I could. The machine works fine if you have the cartridges, but the moment you plug it into your computer to use the Craft Room it stops working. I spent three days, pry a total of 8 hours, trying to get it to work and got only 3 tiny things cut. It says its not connected, and then it will connect and make 1 cut and stop. I downloaded the Craft Room and half the time that won't even open on my MAC it says Initializing Craft Room. Honestly, cricut.com needs to hire an IT firm and get this figured out because you have one very unhappy customer on your hands. I will be calling in to report this and argue to get a new one tomorrow when I get out of school. EVERYONE stay away from this machine!

Very Happy so far

I am new to Cricut, but I got the Cricut Expression 2 for a great deal for Black Friday. I was weary after reading some of the reviews, where it seems if you get a good one, you're set, if you don't then you're in trouble. I think I have a great one. I've used it for scrapping, card making, and doing some decorations for my friend's wedding. We also made all the invitations to her wedding, and there was not a problem! It can be slow to go through the menus but being able to see exactly what size and where you're cutting is amazing, and worth it to me. I would recommend it to anyone if you can get a good one or a great deal for it, go for it!

Disaster

What a horrible machine! why make it more complicated to use than the first model? Hated it, wasted time on it, returned it and bought a refurbished Expression

Love it!!!

I have the original Cricut, which I love but wanted to upgrade. I was really skeptical to purchase this machine due to the very bad reviews here. I went to the store and spoke with someone who had this machine and she gave me a great review. I thought about it for another few days and then finally broke down a bought it. I opened it up right away and went through the tutorial booklet that comes with it. Once I was done with that I was good to go. I have not had a problem with it at all. It cuts strait, it saves paper, it does all that it says it can do. I think you have to be a little tech savvy but if you can read directions you will be fine. I do wish for the price that they would throw in a cover or bag to store it in, but that's minor. I am an avid crafter. Not only scrapbooking but bulletin boards, sewing and more so this machine has already saved me time and money since I don't have to constantly purchase sticker's and letters anymore. I recommend this product!

Worst purchase

I am Beyond disappointed with my purchase. The brand new blade doesn't even cut through printer paper!! The calibration has had to be reset multiple times and there is a delay! I have used a friend's expression and thought I wanted to join the cricut fad, but that was a big mistake! Now I can't return it to the store I purchased it at (michaels) because it's cricuts policy to have to go through them! So disappointed, frustrated, and angry!!!!!!!!!

BAD WARRANTY

I've had my Cricut for just over a year. It short-circuted in the middle of cutting and I called customer service. They sent me a new power cord to see if that was the problem. At first I was happy with their customer service. After receiving the power cord and realizing that wasn't the problem - I called again. Customer service told me that there was nothing else that they can do for me and that I should check out their online sales to buy a new machine. What a bunch of crap!! Why pay $300 dollars for this machine only to get a year's use out of it - not to mention the amount of money that you pour into the cartridges and accessories to go along with it. Provo craft has a horrible warranty policy, and if their machines aren't going to make it through a couple years of "once in awhile" usage, it's not worth your money!!!!!! I'm extremely unhappy with the warranty policy and customer service at provo craft. Don't waste your time or money.
