Hi there! I'm pretty new to scrapbooking with a Cricut but I'M HOOKED. I dont think I have ever found a hobby i've truly loved like I have this. Is it crazy that sometimes I dream about cartridges to add to my collection?? hehe ;) Anyways, I have a quick question. I've been trying to cut out Mickey's shorts with the Mickey and Friends cartridge and I must be doing something wrong because the blade keeps ripping my paper before it even finishes the cut. Is it the pressure, speed or blade depth that might be causing this? Any help would be great!

could be several different things. sometimes if my mat is not clean, the paper will rip. sometimes there can be a little scrap up in the blade that needs to be removed. maybe the blade is getting dull. maybe someone who knows more about it will have better suggestions! :)

What type of paper are you using? Different paper thickness will require you to change the pressure and speed. What do you have those set on?

You can download a Cricut Cutting Guide to help you out a little with your paper ripping issues. It helps give you a good idea on what settings to use for the material you are working with visit http://www.AboveRubiesStudio.com it's free and it saves you time and money!

Wow, thanks so much for that guide! That's going to be so helpful. I too have problems with some of mine ripping, especially when I use paper instead of cardstock. This will be a lifesaver :)

I just had that happen to me last night. I just cleaned the blade and slowed down the cutting, problem solved!
