Ok, so I was pretty busy last week... my brother got married, so I didn't have much time to do much of anything other than wedding planning & cake decorating... BUT, I did manage to update both my G Sync software and my DS with the "bad" updates. I haven't used either as of yet, so I'm confused as to what's gonna happen... is my G not gonna cut now? I'm a little scared to try! Can anyone tell me what (or what not) to do?

TIA!

I am not going to try to tell you what to do as the ultimate decision should be yours. What I can add is what I read and that is some that updated, were able to cut without any problems and some that updated cannot cut. Which category do you fall into, perhaps you will let us know or not. I updated as well but did not try to cut because if I need a project to finish, I will cut with my favorite, Sizzix.

If you updated CDS, Gypsy Sync (not the G itself), and updated the firmware on your Cricut to 2.34..you will not be able to cut from your G.  You can however, cut from CDS and transfer files from G to DS and cut them from DS.  But you can't cut directly from G.

I only know about that scenario because it is the one that I did.

Great!!!!  I did the update for the cds and my cricut is 2.34 also now, so that means if the updates aren't fixed by xmas I won't be able to play with my nice new expensive toy that I'm like a 2 yr. old hoping the days fly by so I can have it.  AAAHHHHHHHH, SCREAM,SCREAM.

I updated the CDS, the Sync software and the G. I did not update the Cricut because by that time, I heard about the problem. My Cricut usually sits for at least a week before I update her. Someone asked me if I was going to sell my Sizzix and I laughed and that was before I bought the Gypsy so you know old faithful Sizzix has a comfortable place in my home! Today is Tuesday, so I better run over to Sizzix to see what is on special!

I'm in the same boat as Fluffy.  I can use all my designs but have to put the carts in, take the carts out ... oh, this is starting to sound like the hokey pokey!  Anyway, I'll be very happy to have it resoved because I loved being able to mix and match carts on one page and just hit a button.  I'm still busy designing on my gypsy and hoping for a resolution soon.

a dumb question for sure but how do you update just gypsy sync and not the gypsy itself .My gypsy sync works only when connected to gypsy and it automatically updates both itself and the gypsy. isn't that the usual behavior? Don't tell me my girl is now started to thinking and acting for herself

that is the way mine works too.

I take it they took down the update so people that buy a gypsy this week won't be affected right? Just curious in case any new people read this thread.

uh- after the update was pulled mine did say update and updated only to 0155 but could read file. But after it found a strange thing. Zoom - pressing silver button pans without pressing lower silver button. Still haven't cut anything

I plugged my G in to update her and got a prompt that a synch update was available.  So I updated my synch.  Then tried to update my G and was told no update was available. So apparently this was after it was pulled.  But, that is how I was able to update my synch and not my G.  Still waiting for the new and improved update.

Cricut App Version 1.2 Build 0142: 11/04/2009
Added Features:

•You can now share files between Cricut® DesignStudio and the Cricut App on your Gypsy™.
•The Cricut App now supports multi-page design.
•By holding down the Zoom button and selecting an image on the keypad, Gypsy will now display a full screen preview of the image so that you can see the details of the image without having to go to the mat screen.
•The name of the cartridge displayed on the keypad window now shows in non-bolded red text if you do not own the cartridge. If you own the cartridge it shows in bolded dark green.
•On the keypad screen, if you tap and hold an image in the image queue, the cartridge name to which that image belongs will be displayed. Clicking the cartridge name switches the keypad to that cartridge.

Enhancements:

•Welding preview is now faster and shows a progress bar.
•Welding preview no longer has to be redrawn when you zoom in or out (you can now enter preview mode and zoom without having to wait each time you zoom).
•Dragging large groups on your mat is now faster.
•Load and Unload button on the cutting menu is now smart. If you have a mat loaded in the Cricut machine the Cricut App will only display the "Unload Mat" button. If you do not have a mat loaded it will only display the "Load Mat" button.
•Updated keyword database.
•Updated the warranty to expand the warranty coverage form 6 months to 12 months (please read the warranty for details).
•New firmware for the Cricut machine that enables some of the features above and improves the reliability of cutting.
•You can now use the zoom and pan buttons to scroll up and down through your file lists when opening and deleting files.

Fixes

•Reported welding issues have been fixed.
•Selection boxes that appear around images and groups have been improved so that the show correctly even when they spill over the edge of the mat. The boxes display while they are being dragged. They do not show when at rest.
•The Cricut machine remembers if you are in mm or inches after you shutdown and then restart.
•Designs that contain templates, where the template contains images you don’t have the rights to cut, can now be cut*.
*Note: Previous to this Circuit App release, if you attempted to cut a design based on a template containing an image you don’t have the rights to cut (even though the template does not cut) the entire design would not cut.
