My old laptop busted and I had to get a new one.  Has anyone had to transfer their software to another computer?  How do you go about it?  I thought I was going to call PC today but I just noticed they are not there on the weekends; however, I did send them an e-mail.  But I would love to find out before hand how I go about doing it.  Do I need to call them?  Do they send me a link?  Anyone know how it works?  I have my activation key w/ me if I need that.

I am going through the exact same thing. With having DS since it first came out I have a disk and after installing it on my new computer and putting in the key it gave me a message something to the effect of you have to call Provo Craft to reinstate your key.

I am trying to wait for my Windows 7 upgrade to be completed since I don't know if that will knock out the key again. And yes you have to wait until they open again on Monday.

You can try to download the version from the web onto your computer (do not use the CD) and then insert your codes from your cd envelope. If that doesn't work you will have to call PC to get them to unlock your code for you to be able to install on your computer. HTH

DD's computer died and she got a new one--had to call cs to active DS--a few weeks later she got a virus and had to completely restore her new laptop--called CS to active again.  They did activate, but told her next time she would have to purchase DS again!

This a girl that has baby bug, E, your story, 40 some odd carts, 2 cuttle bugs and folders, and now the gypsy.

They were really fast in re-activating, but I felt rude.

I just installed it on my new laptop.  It has windows 7.  I just loaded the cd, and ran it.  It did the install.  I downloaded the update from Cricut website.  Signed in the CDS and it asked me for my SN and name and email address.  I did the activation using the internet and it worked just fine.  This is only the 2nd laptop I put it on.

just called to transfer to a new computer. my disc would not install right, so he suggested I download the trial version. he then did activation by phone, gave me a new code, and it's up and running. haven't had time to use it yet, but I hope it's working well. PC support did suggest that you do the reactivation by downloading the trial version before calling, and then activating to the full version that way. He said something about them having problems with reinstalling from the original discs, such as was my situation.

good luck!

I literally did this 45 mins ago.

We tried to install it via disk and it kept having an error and wouldnt run. So we downloaded the trial (I just googled CDS free trial) and then input my serial #, it has been used once and it worked. THe computer it was on died and I did contact PC but they were super slow in emailing me back (like weeks).
