So I am in the middle of uploading my carts...it's only 30 or so. So many I want...cash I don't have. So what do I do with all these carts? I am hesitant to part with them. What if they come out with some new snazzy thingamabob that requires cart uploading? I have my carts uploading, keeping my handbooks out. I am hoping to expand to a larger format (once upon a time there was an ability on this site to print larger versions of the handbooks. So what are you guys doing with your carts? I could really use the $$ (selling them on ebay...but what if my gypsy dies..what if ...what if... Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I am "loaning" them to my DD, along with my baby bug. Then they will always be available if I should ever need them--like if the G crashes, or they come out with a super model G domeday where you have to relink them all again.

if you sell your cartridges then the people who buy your cartridges if they have a gypsy they wont be able to add their cartridges from you on their gypsy. does this make sense.

I'm keeping my carts!!! My Gyspy did die and I am having to send it back for a new one! Plus, it would be hard to sell them since you have already linked them to your Gyspy (meaning you would have to state that) and the person would never be able to link them if they had a Gyspy or was planning on getting one. In my opinion I would not sale!!

I am also keeping mine. I had wondered if cartridges on ebay would have that in the description. I do hope people will tell if the cartridge has been joined. I've found that the prices on Oh My Crafts ohmycrafts.com has better prices that ebay -- especially when they also have the 20% of coupon -- which is almost every day.

Everyone.... PLEASE be careful. After seeing the "Integrity" of PC in action over the past month or so, I am FULLY expecting an "update" that will "somehow" wipe our Gypsies. Of course there will be a full apology from Provo Craft with an explanation that it was uncontrollable and completely accidental on their part that our Gypsies got wiped which of course will make us all suspicious because they never really tell us anything but they'll be like, "NO, that wasn't on purpose at all!" But we'll all know different because I'm tellin you now. And (of course) the only fix will be to RE-upload our carts. So anyone who has sold their carts or sold a pre-loaded Gypsy will lose their money with no recourse. Just be forwarned... I see it coming.....

I'm keeping mine. Should something happen to my G and I need to replace it, I will need those carts to re-link. Plus, I teach classes now and need them for classes where I'm not using my G. I've just gotten some plastic storage boxes and got rid of the boxes they came with as I needed the room. My son used the boxes as "bricks" for a couple days and built walls and forts, then I pitched them. :)

I thought about selling them. One of the reasons why I was interested in the Gypsy was that I wanted to protect my carts. I would keep them for a backup. Least until we can see what PC's future plans are. We might be able to deactivate the carts someday so you might be able to get a better price then.

One other thing to think about is...if your Gypsy dies & you've sold your carts, you have nothing to cut with. If you still have your carts you can always use them on the Cricut while you wait for the Gypsy to be revived or replaced.

This is how I figure it in my little mind .....I paid good money for those carts that I have, SO I am keeping mine I still like to use them, as I do not need my Gypsy for every little cut. I'd hang on to them, you never know.........................

Actually it's not really legal to sell them once you've loaded them on your Gypsy! According to the licensing agreement you are not allowed to keep a copy when you sell the carts. Which IS what you would be doing--the copy is on the Gypsy.

I really don't understand how everyone here thinks that if their gypsy dies that if they get a new one they will need to have their carts to re-load the new machine.....if you can't like one cart to another g, you won't be able to link your carts to a new replacement g either. I understand why PC did this, bue I don't think PC was expecting to have so many problems with it at first. So if there is an update and all the g's will be wiped out then PC will have to re-load all of our carts on our new machines for us.

All PC has to do, which they have done already is set the serial number for the replacement G the same as the bad one before they send it out. That way you can reload all your carts yourself.

I would definitely keep your carts! I have found a number of times that after designing on my gypsy, certain images had to be cut without the gypsy due to the size and intricacy of certain images. The gypsy does not allow you to control the speed of cutting, so for more involved cuts I have to cut without the gypsy just so that I can set my speed to the lowest possible setting.
